How much do pet vaccinations cost?

By Richard Barker, editor. Last checked 16 October 2026.

Vaccination prices on the new standard price lists include the consultation, so the figure you see covers the vet's examination as well as the injection.

What each vaccination price covers

  • Primary course: the first set of vaccinations, usually for a puppy or kitten, including a check by the vet and all core vaccines.
  • Booster: the follow-up vaccination given later to keep protection up, again including a check by the vet and all core vaccines.
  • Kennel cough: a separate vaccine, often asked for by kennels and dog boarders, including a check by the vet.

Prices differ between cats and dogs

Price lists are set out separately for cats and for five sizes of dog, so check you are looking at the right one. Many practices also include vaccinations in a monthly pet care plan, which must be priced on the same list with a link to what the plan includes.

When prices will appear here

We will add each practice's published prices to this guide as their price lists go online, starting with the large groups from 23 December 2026 and every other practice from 23 March 2027. Until then we show only figures the CMA has published, with their source.
